We have just decided to separate. We currently rent but he says I will never be able to afford to stay here so he is saying I’m the one that should move out with my 5yr old.
I literally do not know what to do, I know I should go to citizens advice but at the moment I just cant stop crying.
I’m still in my private rent house from when we were together. He made the mistake of not signing the agreement so it was ok.
What kind of property are you in as you can contact landlord/housing associates for advice or ask at citizens advice. They can guide you more up to date legally.
I’m one of the forum moderators here. Separation can be really difficult and it sounds like you’re facing a really tough situation at the moment. The forum can be a great place to get support and advice from others who have gone through similar experiences, but keep in mind you can always contact our helpline where our trained advisers can talk you through your options and offer expert advice around separation and becoming a single parent.
