Hi guys, moved to Cheltenham in September with my wife and two kids however it hasn’t worked out and we have now separated. My 8 year old daughter lives with me permanently and my 4 year old daughter lives with me half the week. As I’m 200 miles from home and have no friends or family here yet I’m wondering if anyone has any groups or suggestions of where to have some adult conversations etc? X

    Hi Jsaunders643

I’m from Stroud and meet sometimes for a walk/cafe in this area with another single mum and single dad. We are usually child free but I was thinking of organising a walk for the 2nd week of the school holidays with all the kids too if some are around.  There are a couple of mums in the Cheltenham area too who may want to join us. Let me know if you’re interested.  We’re all happy to travel nearer Cheltenham too : )

I’m half an hour away by car from there – was thinking of popping in tomorrow actually on a specific errand with daughter but may not want to brave the madness.

I can’t do walks (or steps) as I am disabled with MS and anyway never enjoyed them much.

I have a 13 yr old and not much time. I tend to prioritise her schedule but if anyone fancies a non walking  group meet up and a not small talk style chat somewhere with seats and easy disabled parking or a movie (Cheltenham Playhouse does cheap classic films sometimes inc kids ones) or noplay – check out Bacon theatre range play  / ballet sometimes where you can get good coffee (not Costa) or good food / a glass of good wine or something let me know.
