I separated from my wife 7 years ago, sharing what should be a 50/50 custody of my two children, though, here family live down in Essex, the 50/50 was never quite as equal as it should have been.  The child benefit went to her as did my daughters middle rate DLA, and subsequently I (despite putting a roof over their heads, feeding and keeping warm) had to pay a large chunk of child maintenance (despite the 50/50 split)

Our break-up was far from amicable, and 7 years on, it’s worse than it has ever been with the mother refusing me access to DLA to buy exercise equipment, additional essentials etc for my daughter that she has at her home.  The mother has also stopped sharing information about my children with me regarding the childrens heath and education, and I’m left reliant on information from the children.   I’ve missed birthdays, Christmases, New Years celebrations etc, because of her selfishness.

I’m writing all this, to give hope to those who are not quite in the same situation as me..  And to  let you know, that sometimes you just have to get on with it the best you can.     If anyone wants to drop me a line for advice or a chat feel free.. I can be quite jolly at times  😀
