    Hi all,

I’m new to this website and could really do with some advice from people in a similar situation.

My wife sadly passed away 11 weeks ago after a short but vile battle with cancer. It’s my younger daughter’s first birthday since her mum passed (she’ll be 11 years old). Not sure if that’s relevant but thought it was worth adding. My question is should I sign her birthday card from her mum, or put a message in that Penny (my wife) would have wanted to say?

Unfortunately Penny and I did not get the time I would have liked to have had many conversations in particular regarding our two daughters and their upbringing.

Any other advice that anyone could give for a 47 year old bloke bringing up two girls alone (11 & 17) would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you in advance

    Darren

Sorry for your loss. These folk might be able to put you in touch with a suitable agency for advice:

    Family Lives 9am-9pm weekdays, 10am-3pm weekends FREE helpline 0808 800 2222 http://familylives.org.uk

Personally I wouldn’t sign the card from your wife. That’s too on the nose at 11. Personally I would sign it from you but speak to her about what your wife would have wanted to say.

    All the best.
