Hi everyone,  am a single parent with three beautiful children. I have recently been offered a permanent property by my council. Is practically an empty house that needs flooring. I will need to do decoration and flooring atleast. I haven’t got the money atall and was wondering if anyone knows where/ how and if I can get any support around this.

There are charities that collect unused paint from big contracting jobs. Have a look on-line.

And most councils have a furniture refurb project where you can get chairs &tables and sofas for very little.

    Not sure about flooring though.

Congratulations on the new house. Just the thought of it has cheered me up this morning. 🤗

@Anonymous, Thank you, oh the floor is hideous.  Not tiles, just wood. I think there was a tile but has been ripped off. If it was tiles, I wouldn’t bother. Will polish and just put a centre rug. Is a council house, they said I can apply for Local welfare provisions but that’s just for white goods.  Cut off carpet is a Brill idea, I will look and see what I can find.  Thank you. This is very helpful.

@Kathymumofone, awww thank you. I have been smiling since I got the news too.yes they mentioned some charities for white goods. But the main one is the flooring am needing support with. I dont mind sleeping on the floor till i get the white goods. Am going to look into cut off carpets as @Anonymous suggested. Thank you again😊😊😁
