As a dad of a 6y old, who I look after by myself, I’m disapointed that mothers are pictured on the site, but I didn’t see fathers. As a charity I think it’s important to represent all kinds of single parents.

    Hello Joe,

After all those years of being invisible as a single father you get used to it. That is what we are.

Make the best of it and keep under the radar. We don’t need an invisibility cloak we can hide in plain daylight ;-). Harry Potter envies us.

By putting pressure on organisations to destigmatise the “single parent” is how change will be reached. Let Gingerbread know how you feel so they can make changes.
Gender doesn’t and shouldn’t come into play when addressing single parent issues. We are all doing our best for our children in whatever capacity we can.

Thank you Hannah. I have let Gingerbread know, but haven’t got a response yet

    Hi JoeRoss12345

I’m Justine and I’m one of the moderators here at Gingerbread.  Thank you for your comments.  We really value your insight and these comments have already been forwarded within the organisation.  We do have a section in the website that is specifically related to single dads, I will include the link at the end of this post, but if a single dad is feeling underrepresented within our pages then this needs to be explored.  We will look into this further and we are grateful you have raised this as a concern.

    Kind regards, Justine
