I would like to say merry Christmas to everyone.

I know this one is going to be very hard in so many ways, and on so many people in this group.

But I do wish you all the best what ever your situation.

    Merry Christmas

Sorry. Long message but might help, or not.

I hope everyone has a happy Christmas, whatever you are doing.

Remember Christmas Day is one day and Christmas can be celebrated any day of the year. Dance to one of your favourite songs, watch your favourite tv, eat your favourite food, drink something alcoholic.

This time next week it will all be over. I am looking forward to 2022 with some trepidation but mostly optimism. I was alone for most of last Christmas Day and had a lovely day.

For some people it’s all too much and just having some alone time is just what is needed.

Don’t forget there are always plenty of people who need support at Christmas so you don’t have to be alone if you don’t want to be. e.g. Salvation Army etc.

I’m at my mum’s, on my own, which hasn’t happened for about 20 years! I have been given the gift of no children this year so I’m going to rest, relax, read, eat, drink and be spoilt.

Next year I will have the kids so I’m reflecting on and enjoying the fact that this is the first and last year without them. And I’m looking forward to it.<!–/data/user/0/–>

Merry Christmas to you too. I hope it’s a welcome chance to celebrate and relax.

I’ve noticed that it’s very quiet on here recently, which probably means everyone is distracted by positive Christmas plans or weighed down by the added stress of it all. Hopefully it’s the former.

A good sign i hope. Busy people. Nice to read your message. Yes, i feel hopeful, rested, peaceful….

Missing the kids but enjoying the day spent just mum and me. Treated her to lunch, helped her wrap presents, currently drinking her gin!

This morning’s i newspaper (formerly The Independent) had an interesting piece if you can get hold of it about the positives of Christmas. One of them was about just going with the situation as you find it, going with the flow etc.

Lots of stress but hope people can set it to one side for one day.

I thought people might find this amusing. My son doesn’t know I’m at my mum’s for Christmas as he will be upset if he knows I’ve gone without him. He called earlier to talk to my mum but hasn’t yet phoned me! I just found that amusing, but it could just be my sense of humour!
