I’m a mum of 2 (7 and 2 years) and am planing to separate from my husband for 2 years (been together 12)

It’s my decision to separate after trying couples counselling for 10 months last year and a few other things happening that can’t be rectified.

we currently live in a council property which he pays for, I’m a stay at home mum and don’t have any earnings or savings as he covers everything.

He has told me he doesn’t want to leave and that as I am the one who wants to finish things I should be the one who goes and he will look after the children etc. He’s been very spiteful and not understanding of my thoughts or feelings and what I think is right for our kids.

It must be difficult as he wants to work on the relationship but it’s been over for a while for me and I don’t see us working things out. Too much has happened that I can’t get over

I can’t leave, I have nowhere to go, no money to rent or live where as he earns over £50,000 a year. I’m not sure what to do.

    any advice welcome

Can you speak to the council housing department. Are you named on the housing agreement? I’d explain the situation to them, I’m sure they will have an advisor who can support you.
