Hi. Have just joined this site. I am a single mum to my 17 month old daughter. I live in malvern, Worcestershire and have no friends or family nearby. I am starting to really struggle with feeling very lonely despite having my daughter to look after every day. I suffer with anxiety so I find that going to groups is a really tough thing to do and I have tried groups in the past and struggled to make conversation with others. So hence why I have joined on here to see if it can help!

It can be good to open up and share a bit with folks on here as you don’t have to ever meet them! PM me anytime you want a chat and post in other threads. Maybe after a while you’ll feel you can meet up with some – that will happen naturally anyway once your daughter starts nursery, etc.

    Welcome and all the best.

Thank you. I am hoping to move nearer family soon but even then I wouldn’t want to be seeing them every day! My daughter won’t start nursery for another year! I just find that cos I never have anyone to talk to I bottle things up and end up worrying and thinking about stuff all the time

Well you’ve absolutely no need to ever again! and yes, you need a bit of head space for yourself and from your family, however wonderful they are.

    Hi Bongo2390

I totally understand how you’re feeling. Currently I live in Kent because I used to work in London and my children attend school/college here.

I originate from Cardiff and while I have some lovely friends, I feel really lonely as all of my family are back home.

I hope that you meet some great friends here and please feel free to pm me, I’m always here to listen.

Take care and have a lovely weekend

Try mother and baby group. Usually once a week for an hour and free . Run at the church hall. I had no one to go as parents have passed and siblings far. I joined play group when my daughter was 6 months   and she’s now 4 years old. Best thing I ever did as everyone is supportive and they arranged trips.

I’ve tried quite a few here in malvern but alot of the mums are very clicky and only talk to people they know so felt isolated

Yes I found that but I preserved . I was blanked and ignored when I mentioned that I  was on maternity leave but I continued going to the same group  as my daughter needed to get out and mix.

If people are stay at home parents that’s fine but I need and want to work as I have a mortgage. I  was made to feel uncomfortable and couldn’t join in .anyway not everyone was mean to me.
