Basically I am about the split with my partner, I’m so scared. I have a 2 year old, a full time job which I love and he was full time childcare for my son.

When he leaves i can’t afford  childcare for my son so will have to quit my job. If I quit will I be entitled to benifits or get penalised because I quit. I’m so confused and scared I won’t be able to provide for my son. We have been on the rocks for a while and this is the only reason I have stayed

    Help!

Please consider carefully before just quitting your job.  Many single parents find a lot of fullfillment and sense of accomplishment through being able to go to work end support their chip.  It can be an enormous source of support and distraction during difficult times.  Your employee should be able to support you to work flexibly or take some time off initially while you do more things out.  You will be entitled to child care support via tax credits and possibly housing support viz your licfl council so check your eligibility.  Do do anything before checking out all your options and use family and friends for support.  Best wishes. x
