    I just want to introduce myself. I’m Sam. I have 3 children 14, 10, and 7.

My partner of 14 years died suddenly 8 months ago and now I’m a single parent to our children.

I am doing a shit job of it so far (excuse the language).

    Anyway thanks for reading xxxx

Hi Sammie, welcome to the forum.

I’m so sorry to read about your loss, my mum went through the same thing, I was 18 and have 3 younger brothers, the youngest was 11 at the time. It was obviously devastating for us all so I do sympathise, I know your world has been turned upside down but it will get easier in time.

I’m sure your doing a better job of being a mum than you give yourself credit for, just hang in there, you are going to be ok.

So sorry for your loss. I can’t even imagine how devastating that must be for you and the kids. But try not to be so hard on yourself, this is all still very new to you and you need to give yourself time to adjust. As long as the kids are fed and clothed you are doing fine. You just need to grieve and take each day as it comes. You’re doing great, you’ve got this xx

As above sorry for yours and your childrens loss.

I just watched a film on channel one all about the core emotions. Blubbered my eyes out which is rare for me but always does me good and makes me feel better.

Our children are similar ages my eldest will be 14 this year and I have a 9 and an 8 year old.

I had issues with there dad which unfortunately means none of them live with me. I go to Art Therapy Groups, Church and try to attend talking therapy and meditation sessions when i can.

Dont be scared of sourcing therapy groups in your local area. Sometimes the down time helps.
