    Hi all,

    we  got a mortgage on joint name just three months ago, now we decided to separate due to not getting along very well, but he is letting me stay at the house and he is moving from there and he is also letting keep the house, I am single mom with two daughters older one 7 and younger one just 1 year old, I just want to know what help is there for me To pay my mortgage and pay my bills

    Sorry to hear that Catherine. I don’t know much about that as my ex let me live in the house and moved in with her new partner then forced sale of the family home making myself and my son homeless. I do think there is some useful information under some of the headings on this site though. Hope you find what you need x

    Marv,how did your ex force sale of the family home,I thought UK Laws state the parent who resides in the house with the children are entitled to stay in there until the youngest is 18,mate sorry to hear that mate.

    The house can be sold so that the ex partner has money to be able to start again. The ex can come off the mortgage and who ever takes over it must show evidence to the bank that they can afford the mortgage repayments by the property being sold to that person.
