Hi, so I’m 30 weeks pregnant and me and the father of the baby are no longer together, he is now trying to claim for paternity leave, but has no involvement and has requested a copy of my matb1 form. He has made it clear he just wants to have “2 weeks” off.. is he entitled to this? And where do I stand?
That’s awful! When I had my eldest and was not with his father, he had two paid weeks off work which he spent lazing around his flat, not doing anything to support us. That was eight years ago. I’m currently 29 weeks with baby no 3 and not even planning on telling the father when she’s born!
He’s not interested at all so won’t notice! He never asks after his other child, who is 2 and he certainly hasn’t asked how the pregnancy is progressing. I have a number of pregnancy related issues that he doesn’t know about. He has an autistic spectrum disorder that means he can’t empathise and isn’t able to get emotionally involved. He can’t take paternity leave anyway as he’s a contractor.
