is it easier to win the lottery than find part time work as a single parent?

Hi everyone,

my first posting on here so thought i would jump straight in… i am looking for part time work. i have no support so dependent on nursery. I am finding my options very limited. Would appreciate any advice as being told by agencies that only way to go is go back full time….

• Perhaps look yo work in schools?  Usually offer term time only hours. Could start by volunteering in a school once a week/month to gain experience? I know how challenging it can be and decided to start working in schools primarily as ut fitted with having kids ( off when they are). Local council website will have mist school vacancies advertised or on the actual school website

yes. yes it is easier to win the lottery! lol i love that heading but keep trying, i totally relate to your struggle right now (also experiencing this nightmare), just do not lose your motivation and determination!

i am in a situation that the work i get needs to cover childcare at nursery. i am getting some help as a single parent but some of the roles mentioned would not pay enough to break even.

Thanks for the feedback but if my child was in school I would not need to earn a certain amount to cover childcare so I could be more flexible with the roles i can go for. Also as I am alone and have no support at home I cannot take on shift work. i have been applying non stop for jobs so i know something will crop up if i keep going.
