I left my husband due to domestic abuse and he has been paying child maintenance, I’ve heard from him that he is now using an offshore umbrella company, which means despite him earning nearly 5000 a week, to the tax man it looks like he isn’t earning very much at all, so as CM goes on tax I am terrified that the payments are going to drop and I’m stressed all the time waiting for that to happen.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Would I be better to start divorce proceedings? I’m also terrified he is going to leave the country, I’m currently not working as I suffer from PTSD, Anxiety and Agoraphobia as a result of the abuse and I am still working through these issues with the support of mental health and this new news isn’t helping at all. I was hoping to have time to be a little stronger before going for divorce 🙁

CMS deal with earnings up to 3,000 per week. Beyond that the courts will have to decide.
