I was wondering if there are any groups or services to help with a parent being charged and potentially sent to prison?
Up until this terrible event he’s always been a strong person in her life and we have always worked hard making a healthy and positive environment for our daughter. She has become very attached to her half brother and the family dynamics seemed to be working so well. They would have her on a regular basis and she loved going to see them.
The future right now seems very confusing and I don’t know what to expect. I don’t know how we best deal with this with regards to my daughter.
At the moment I’ve just told her that her dad can’t see her as they are at the hospital but in fact it’s much much more serious and legally he isn’t allowed any contact at all. Really I’m just hopeful there is some kind of support group and/or people who’ve been in similar situations who can share their experiences and advice? It’s such a crazy situation to be in and it truly doesn’t feel real.
I’ve emailed the main site but that was over two weeks ago and I’ve had no reply. I’ve just sent an email to the NSPCC for advice but I don’t know where else to go.
Thanks for reading,
