How to single parents celebrate Mother’s Day? I’ve always been a single mother and on my first mother’s day I dressed up and took photos with my daughter. Now my second Mother’s Day is approaching, I want to mark it somehow. Maybe purchase some lovely flowers. Keen to know how other people mark the occasion.
    Thanks

I often end up at church.

In previous years they’ve given out cards and had speakers or theres often a homily and biblical recognition.

Its one of the harder ones for me as my contact is so limited but i think thanking god for the life you brought into the world by celebrating your own, a bottle of wine and takeaway, is often a respectful way.

Thanks for this Liane. I’m a believer myself but struggle with churches, so maybe I’ll listen to some preaching on YouTube, some Lebanese food (my fav) and some fizz. Hope you spend your day in a lovely way too.

Father’s day took on meaning when my son was old enough to get me a card on his own. He’s now 14. Up til then my mum bought something for him to give me, which is nice, but not really From Him.

No religious connotations to it, as far as I’m aware.
