Hi I’m new here. I’m a single parent to my beautiful two year old daughter Alice. Sadly we lost an amazing mummy and wife to cancer last year.
I get incredibly lonely especially evenings and weekends and hope to fix that one day soon.
I’ve just done a search for a local group and there isn’t really one very close. Wondered if anyone reading this is anywhere near me?!? I’d love a chat if you are.
I am new too. I joined today! Im really sorry to hear about your wife. Thank God you daughter has you.
I just wanted to send you a word of encouragement and urge you to stay strong 🙂
Why don’t you try and start your own group – I’m thinking about doing that too. Unfortunately there are many of us in this situation, I’m sure you would find others close by.
Alan you might need to give us a clue where you are! And yes, set up your own group. You’d be really surprised how many people would be interested as we’re all pretty much in the same boat.
Sorry, being an idiot – you said the location in the title! I am pretty sure there must be a Gingerbread group, if not several in Coventry. Have you tried phoning Gingerbread and checking with them? They would help you set one up if there isn’t already something in place.
I’m new to ginger bread too but thought I would say hi. I’m so sorry about your wife. I can’t imagine how painful that is for you both. I’e been on my own since pregnant with my daughter, it’ been incredibly hard yet intense joy too. I still find life in evenings and weekends particularly lonely but over time it’s bearable. I do find friends slip away as most don’t understand what a struggle it can be as a single parent, which is why I thought it time to meet some new single parents. Keep strong and if I can offer any words of support I certainly will. Best wishes Jennie
Hi Alan this is my 1st post! So sorry to hear about your wife. I’m from Birmingham so not too far. My husband walked out 3 months ago with no explanation so I get the evening and weekend comment. Sitting here waiting for my son to come home from spending the day with his dad. 😢 big hug to you x
