    Hey everyone!

I have two children 3 and 1 and I’d like to put them both into nursery for a short period of time so I can receive counselling and start sorting myself out as well as volunteering which would be in the hope of further studying.

Does anyone know if I could get help with childcare costs as I’m not working? It seems impossible to actually do anything with the younger child with me 24/7. I’d like to start studying, but to do so I need ‘work experience’ hence the volunteering.

    Hi,

check this, info about free childcare which you may be able to get: https://www.gov.uk/help-with-childcare-costs/free-childcare-and-education-for-2-to-4-year-olds

is it possible at all for the childrens father to help out?

Their father works so cannot have them unfortunately unless it’s the weekend. But most services are during the week.

My 3yo goes to nursery two mornings a week, but I’m still with my 1yo all the time. Perhaps I just have to wait a year?

    Hi TicketyBoo,

The government offers help for your child at 2 yrs old. Could any friends or family help out with childcare throughout the week?

You can do a training course online. What job are you interested in? What borough do u live in, if u don’t mind. I could do some research on how to help you with volunteering options, maybe even you can apply for hardship funds.

You are not alone. Don’t give up. One step at a time. Baby steps!

    Thanks, Katherine
