    I’m newly separated from my partner of 9 years. We have two boys 5 & 2. Since separating my 5yo is acting out massively. I know this is normal as his whole world has been turned upside down. He’s getting help dealing with everyone but my problem is ME!

    I’ve become this angry, shouting horrible mother and I can’t seem to stop. I’m terrified beyond belief that I’ll be stopped from seeing my boys because I’m so angry all the time. Please If anyone has advice on how to help me please I’m so desperate.

    @Donein2

    Good morning lovely,

    Did you manage to get much sleep in the end? How are you feeling this morning?

    Gosh your poor little’un. I can imagine the frustration from them playing up is adding too and exacerbating all the feelings you already have flying around.

    Do you have family or friends you can open up to?

    I know your GP can refer you to someone if you want to speak to someone professionally.

    Alternatively, we are all here if you just need a rant.

    Hi Donein2

    If ur like me u love those kids but it’s all just too much and way over your head.So many of us end up taking it all out on our nearest and dearest.You’re very honest,i bet it all just gets too much.it does for me sometimes & I shudder when I wonder what my neighbour must think,but then I rationalize if it sounds so bad she shld be knocking on to ask if we’re ok! Getting a therapist or a life coach or one of those things can really help to keep u feeling sane & validate you without judging you bc it’s really hard single parenting.was never meant to be like this.I found that helped me a lot.I learnt anger is normally just a cover up for fear or pain.I bet you’re a really great mum.Good luck.
