Hi everyone on here, I have just joined as needing some support given the current situation with lockdown.. I’m a single mama to 5 children, oldest 15 youngest 8..My ex left us last year for another women, he has moved to a different part of the country to be with her so doesn’t see the kids a lot.. I’m finding it pretty lonely with not doing the school run, seeing friends, etc. I also run a business from home as well as studying, so find that keeps me busy. Hope to find support and friendship here 😊

Hi Andrea, I get lonely on an evening usually. I’m still working so not so bad in the day time as I’m a bit of a clown at work and entertain myself and others, mainly by laughing at my own ‘dad’ jokes while no one else does! So if you’re feeling crap and feeling like chatting just send me a message, happy to talk about any old rubbish or just listen if needed.19 June 2020 at 2:29 pm #41284
Thank you, I will do..20 June 2020 at 8:13 pm #41314
Hi, my little boy is 5. I have been having to work throughout the pandemic & he has been going to school….but I too find the weekends/evenings can be a lonely time. Especially when the weather is nice and friends go out as a family20 June 2020 at 9:36 pm #41319
Yes, it’s hard when all your friends are having all their family time and you don’t have that experience anymore…a couple of my younger ones ate going back to school in a weeks time, so that’s something. Holding on…..20 June 2020 at 10:57 pm #41320
You will get a bit of time to yourself when your younger ones go to school? Nice to have a bit of time to yourself
I do miss my occasional night out with the girls though ! 2020 has not been the best year for anyone20 June 2020 at 11:18 pm #41324
I really miss my girls nights out too, can’t wait to start doing that again.. My girls are going at different points in the day so I will still have children at home but it will be easier.. I have my year 6 child at school and she loves it, she gets so much attention as it is a small school anyway. There is 3 in her class at the moment. Anyway, for this week I’m going to focus on self care (for all of us) and having fun, creating memories..21 June 2020 at 1:33 pm #41339
My little one has 8 in his class, 3 teachers! He has a different teacher, but he knows her so that’s good & she seems nice.
I have felt a little guilty having to send him throughout as only key worker children were there initially – but I had to work !
Yes you have a lovely week – wonderful memories are what keep you going21 June 2020 at 4:31 pm #41342
Thank you, yes. I’m planning one nice thing to do everyday. And tons of self care for me (it’s not so hard as I’m a body shop at home consultant)21 June 2020 at 9:32 pm #41352
You definitely know how to self care then! I am a nurse so little time to relax…maybe I could ask one of the Doctors I work with to prescribe me a spa day for one! Ha
Hope you have a great week21 June 2020 at 10:33 pm #41354
