Hi, I am the main carer for my grandson, I received the child benefit, can I make a claim against both his parents for Child Maintenance?

    Thank you

Is this a legal arrangement or informal?

But yes you can claim from the parents. If they’re one household I don’t know if it would be one claim or two.

Are you retired/over state pension age? In England? If so there are other benefits you may be eligible for.

    1. national insurance credit – if not retired – this will contribute to your state pension – if not automatically getting as a result of child benefit
    2. universal credit
