Hi im new to this, just after a bit of advice. I have a 9 month old baby and been back at work for 3 weeks now but i am really struggling with child care. I think i am going to have to give up work vut as i have never been on benefits before i have no idea where to start. Scared im going to lose my rented house too because i have no idea how to sort it all out. I think i need to give 4 weeks notice at work but i dont think i will even be able to as i have no one for the baby
If you look on gov.uk website and search for universal credit there are links to show you what you may be entitled to. Council tax benefit maybe applied for direct from council as it is here. It would be a shame to give up work because you and your baby will be better off all round if you continue to work. Is it possible you could change your hours? What happened with your current child care?
I know what that’s like. My wife left me with 2 small children when we separated. She looks after them when I work which is only part time but I wouldn’t want to give it up. Are there any childminders in your area?
There is child minders in the area but i wouldnt be able to afford it as i am only just managing as it is. Plus because she has never been away from me she wont let anyone else hold her, not even the lady that lives next door who she sees every day. Just dont no where to go from hear
If there is no likelyhood of babies dad continuing at least until you have worked your notice then you have got to do what’s best for you, perhaps you could speak to your employer, if you can’t work your notice then what can you do. My son took a few visits at preschool before he got used to it and he was older.sorry I can’t be any more help but happy chat about it.
