I work in a supermarket. Child’s school closed last week due to corona virus. He is 11 year 7 pupil.
work have helped with shifts. I am considering Furlough as we do not have a back up to help. My sister has an at risk husband and child’s father is not involved.

I rang tax credits to see if I did ask for furlough would I still get tax credits well working tax. They seemed vague and I cannot find guidance.
I am just worried if I get ill who will look after my son?

    Hi there

I would suggest that you contact our single parent helpline.  They may be able to help you explore this with you.  Here are their details:

    • Gingerbread Single Parent Helpline – Freephone 0808 802 0925

    Opening hours:  Mon 10 – 6, Tues 10- 4, Wed 10 – 1 & 5 – 7, Thurs 10 – 4, Fri 10 – 4  They can be busy so callers can expect to wait up to 20 minutes before the call is answered.

On another point I can see you have used your email as a user name.  As the forum is available on public view and this means anyone can see this. This leaves you open for spam attacks.  Its easy to change your user name.  Click where it says ‘Hi, lmcc64@live.com’  You will then have a box which says ‘edit my profile’.  This is where you can make changes.

    Hope that helps, Justine
