I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking 2017 has been a challenging year though we’re approaching in the end and I’m feeling positive about the future for the first time in years. Despite being single for 18months, it’s only been this year I’ve managed to secure an occupation order and have my delusional and abusive ex partner of 16 years evicted from our property. This has allowed me to regain some confidence and focus on my 3 beautiful children, aged 13,11,6 years. I feel a huge sense of achievement as I complete the final module of my MSc, I only left school with 2 GCSEs. I even passed my CBT (motorbike) just for fun and towed my caravan on my own! I was told I’d never amount to much, I’ve been through hell over recent years and the reason why I’m saying this is, i suppose, to help those out there who need to know even if you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, it is there, you just have to keep going, some tunnels are longer than others. Surround yourself with people that make you laugh and distance yourself from those who make you feel negative. We all need support from time to time, in different ways and that’s okay. I wish all the single mums and dads sat at home with their children this evening a wonderful new year, we’ll be playing prize bingo 😁
