Hello, I’m hoping someone may be able to give me some advice. I recently relocated from Cornwall to Bournemouth with my beautiful four year old. I’ve started university to do my psychology degree. It was the scariest thing I’ve ever done. But it hasn’t gone to plan. We’re still in temporary accommodation which has chipped at what money I had budgeted. Now I’m scared we’ll never find a home here and we’ll end up homeless as I can’t keep up financially. I was hoping to work part time eventually too, but without a home base I don’t know what to do. I’ve started a go fund me (which I am humiliated about and is out of sheer desperation). Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Here’s the link to the go fund me as well if anyone could share. I don’t know what to do. I just wanted to make something of myself so I didn’t have to struggle supporting my daughter. I’m so tired of trying to do the right thing and ending up feeling alone and like a failure. https://www.gofundme.com/help-a-family-new-start

Hi thank you for the reply.

There was a plan, unfortunately like most things it hasn’t worked out that way. I am registered with a few letting agents so am hoping something comes up soon.

The reason I decided to go for this is mainly that I don’t have family to rely on. My mother who I was very close to passed away years ago and I unfortunately don’t have a relationship with my father. I have very close friends here who would help if I was working or needed help, so I decided if I was going to university it would be best to finally be somewhere that we have some kind of support network.

Yes she is, she’s enrolled in a school near to the university as I thought that was most convenient given that we don’t a have a permanent base yet.

It just seems to be finding housing is a major obstacle.
