Hi, I hope everyone is safe and well. I just need some clarity about if I have to report my temporary hour reduction to HMRC? I work in Healthcare so I have to go to work still. Before all this I use to work 2 nights a week (22hrs) My 12yr old daughter use to stay at me mums but because she is in the vulnerable category me mum is in 12wk isolation, so cannot have me daughter. Work have been brilliant obviously they need all the staff they can get so have allowed me to change my shift until this is over. I’m now working 3 days a week 08:30 – 14:30 but have to take half hr unpaid break so ive gone from 22hrs pw down to 16.5hrs pw. My daughter does have a place at school but is having anxiety about leaving the house so wont go. so I cannot pick any extra hrs up as she is home alone. My neighbour is home with her children during this time so checks on her from over the fence aswell as myself and my family face timing throughout the day. Because this is all an unknown and hopefully only temporary, do I have to inform HMRC of my hours change? I’m on the old system still and only receive working and child tax credits.
