    Hey everyone,

Firstly, I hope you and your families are all keeping well.

I am nearly 6 months pregnant, me and the baby’s Dad broke up about 5/6 weeks ago and I have not heard a word from him in just over a month- which kind of reassures me that I did the right thing and he is indeed useless.

My biggest worry at the moment is that I am having routine appointments cancelled, I totally understand why NHS staff want to minimise the number of people in and out of hospitals and although I adore being pregnant, this is having such a bad impact on my mental health and how I imagined my first pregnancy to be.

My little girl is fine and healthy but is it normal to be experiencing heightened anxiety the first time round? I guess I was hoping that the routine appointments would give me reassurance throughout so now I’m seeking that elsewhere.

Thank you if you read through my essay! All feedback welcome!

Hi hun , it’s definitely scary for us all first time round especially. It’s difficult times as well and everyone is feeling it. your little girl sounds like she is doing just great. You sound like you definitely made right decision in leavening your ex, if he hasn’t made contact now with everything that’s going on as well he really isn’t worth it at all and you are better off knowing now rather than later.

Maybe call your midwife and see if you can have a telephone consultation. I’m a nurse and that’s what we are doing at the moment. There should be a perinatal service in your area so call your Gp ask ask what you can access. Definitely talk to your midwife about your feelings as in my service it’s generally the midwives that make all the referrals for support that you may need  x

take care and stay safe xx
