Hi. Iv been a single parent for all my sons life (three years). I did have a little support from family until I got into a very short relationship that turned violent. I and my son have now moved miles away from everyone we know. I really am doing this alone and finding it really difficult. There seems to be nothing here to help single mothers with anything I.e getting to my hospital appointments. My son has just had to miss out on going to nursery this week because I was too ill to walk him there. Feel such a failure

    Hi there Caydensmummy,

have you tried calling the nearest childrens centre for support ? It doesnt have to be very near if there are none in your immediate area, they should be able to put you on to all the support for single parents where you are, maybe even offer some help from their own staff (it happened to me). And don’t feel a failure for being ill, that’s out of your control and happens to everyone. How about facebook parents groups ? Local community centre?

    Just dont give up 🙂

i have spoken to the sure start center and they have no help for single mothers, Home start don’t operate in my area,iv even asked my sons nursery if they know of anything, but they don’t. All I keep getting told is I’m In a loophole that they don’t cover. I’m at a total loss as to where to go next. I’m so worried
