Hi I am new to this, never been on a forum of any kind.  Also feel bad that my daughter is 17 but has mental health problems.  The last time she saw her dad she was 2.  I do work 24 hours a week, my daughter was refused pip at 16 because, well to be totally honest I think the nurse doing the interview was in a different room to us, when I appealed unfortunately my daughter would not go in was having severe anxiety and panic attacks and I could not get her in and was told if she wont come in nothing we can do.  I informed every one I needed to council tax housing tax credit. Now housing has said they over paid by 3000 and are taking all my housing benefit I’m entitled to for the next 140 weeks.  I have tryed to get to CAB but unfortunately they are only open 2hrs a day in mornings when I’m working if I don’t work I don’t get paid.  I cant pay my rent now so I’m getting totally in arrears I’m feeling totally defeated and to be honest keep thinking only one way out ………..

She would be better of at least she would get my insurance.

All I seem to be doing is crying I cant get out of it I cant see a way around it now

    Hi Sian,

I have just joined Gingerbread (literally like 10 mins ago) and I have come across your post. I really emphasise with your current situation and can relate having gone through a similar situation.

There are charities out there who can provide support for this situation so I would suggest that you get in touch.I would also look up local advice groups within your area, as I found the Salvation Army to have had a regular legal surgery every week free of charge.

contact your local council and appeal their decision or even better yet ask for them to recalculate the amount.

You can then try to agree an arrangement which I think should be made as an adjustment.

    stay strong, don’t give up.
