Hello! I’m due my first (and probably only!) baby in September, which has been an unexpected delight. I’m 40 and recently separated from my partner as it was a very unhealthy relationship. I feel more positive about going forward than I would have expected, but simultaneously experience the uncertainty and anxieties of doing it fully alone. My parents have both died, so I don’t have them for support.  I do have a good level of love and support from friends, but I would really love to connect with other mums-to-be going through / having gone through something similar.

I feel for you. I’m a guy, my situation is the opposite, my wife left me after she fell pregnant. I’m 40 also. I have little family support also.  How you feeling at present. I can give you help from my experience. Harry

Hi, I’m a first time mum with a 5 month old at the age of 41. Same situation as you – things were bad between myself and partner while I was pregnant and things came to a head at the beginning of the year and we decided to go out deprecate ways. All I would say is enjoy your pregnancy and birth and don’t let him spoil any of it. I feel like I was always stressed about the relationship on top of severe morning sickness for most of my pregnancy that I missed out on the enjoyment – that’s my biggest regret.
I won’t lie, it’s exhausting being a single mum, but all of that is worth it for the bundle of joy you get out of your little human being that you’ve carried and nurtured for 9 months. They grow so quickly so enjoy him/her when they arrive as much as you can. Would love to connect with you for support etc.. I’m sure we could relate to each other in many ways.
Take care of yourself and little bubba ❤️ Xx
