What is the law around kids living arrangements for the non-resident parent?
My ex is trying to stop me seeing my kids because one of them sleeps on an airbed. Girl 12 and boy 10 sleep over every other weekend. When the youngest turned 10 we separated them but due to lack of space and her threats to take the kids away straight away, we bought a good quality air bed. The kids love it. And when they are round they are never even in their rooms – they sit with me and my partner or we are out doing things.
now the ex is threatening again and making claims that the kids have said things when actually she just wants to nit pick our relationship with the kids. We never contact her- we let her live her life. So why can’t she do the same!!!
it does seem like nit picking, and if you were to go through family courts, I think it would be seen as extremely petty and not a valid reason to stop the kids staying over. regular bed, sofa bed, air bed shouldn’t be an issue with reasonable people. do you have a court order in place?
