Hello I’m new here but hope someone has advice as to how I go about this? Long story same as many unfortunately.. ex set up payments. Changes jobs and missed payments for years on and off. Csa failed to contact him or make collection and basiclly the last calculation was in the £26,000 arrears mark!! Yep, I know. Local Mp wrote on my behalf to find out why this has been allows to happen and unfortunately the timing tallied with the closing down of the old system and the start of the new improved one (ahem) so my case would be left open until the Csa closed but I would have to pay for any further services. Short version, nothing happened. He never paid a penny and never went to court. Years of financial neglect forcing me into the benefits sysytem and causing long term mental health related issues still to this day. ( its 5 years ago this year that I gave up contacting the Csa).

My question is this.. is there a way I can get the case investigated and at least get some of the money he owes me for my son, now 16? My ex pays me £100 a month now and has done for the last year, but still does miss payments and earns a good living. He’s a self employed chef by the way. Say no more eh?

    Many thanks x

Also, forgot to add, Mp enquiry basically said that Csa not fit for purpose and I could prove his payments were not regular and his contact zero over 13 years. The Csa was indeed not fit for purpose in this case but there was nothing I could do except take him to court, pay the fees and deal with the fact that there wasn’t a way they could enforce payment as he had no assets or savings. I left the case open. He’s working full time now. So far he’s paid me £700 over a year. Not direct from earnings just straight to my account. He still hasn’t seen his son.
