You’re more than welcome. Your local council will have a councillor who will oversee housing issues for residents within their borough. Just to add, your secure tenancy will follow you, no matter how many times you move. That’s why its called secured. 🙂

    Thank you Home_Alone 🙂

The council has said with the mature exchange I can lose my secure tenancy

Hence I need to council to rehouse us

Our local councillor is the same political party Labour. So we’re pretty much at a loss here hence I need to meet with my local MP

    I mean that’s her job…

No, the council is wrong, you can’t lose a secure tenancy through a mutual exchange. Whoever told you that may be misinformed.

    Try councillor Helen Godwin. 🙂

Thanks for the councillor contact name 🙂 thank you very much

In relation to the loss of secure tenancy the housing officer Kate Ryan told me I have it on an email.  I think it’s also on the Bristol city councils website

On the website is says that you can’t’ exchange while on an introductory tenancy, but when your period is over you have the full rights of a secure tenant.

    https://www.bristol.gov.uk/housing/exchange-your-home

On that link it explains we need to check tenure because we could be swapping our tenancies

Yes, I see what you mean. AsI said previously, housing is a massive issue.

Contact your local EHO, if they deem the damp/mould unsafe they will instruct housing to resolve the issue.

If the council has time to harass us then it has time to rehouse us but it chooses to be difficult

as a council tenant it us the responsibility if the housing officer to assist us but in stead they want to do what ever they can to start eviction proceedings by trying to prove I’ve breached tenancy agreement via court proceedings

Bristol city council is terrible and whilst housing is an issue we already live in its property so why does it not just swap us know another council property

The council has no excuse for it behaving unprofessionally this way and MP should be on our side nit the councils

I understand it’s stressful. Thankfully you do have a roof over your head, many don’t. Give Helen Godwin a try.  wishing you luck with it. 🙂

I know but the gave us mouldy home and we pay rent on it

Again no excuse for the council’s and MP behaviour

We were also homeless and because of that the council gave us a run down place with mould and charges us for it  that’s not right
