My children and I escaped domestic abuse 5 years ago. Father doesn’t have contact and we were moved and given name changes. I never claimed CSA as he threatened us and my wider family if I ever did. My family have all now moved and I’m tired of struggling. My children deserve better! Is there any way you can safely claim CSA without them finding out your new names and area you live? I’m aware CMS can collect payments and protect your information. However, my ex would contest just to take it to court. If it went to court would it be a court local to you so they know your approximate location? Or do they get your new name if you are taking them to court?</span>

if you will use CMS direct pay method, then all they will ask is for your bank details. they will send it to him. thats all. I don’t think courts will be interested in over-riding CMS if your ex goes to them.

You can set up a non geographical bank account, so he won’t know where your local branch is, he won’t have your new name or any contact details. you can make a claim in the knowledge you and your children are safe! He will not find out your new name or your location.

and he can not take you to court over maintenance payments! That’s just him being manipulative and abusive. Maintenance and child access are not linked at all. Xx

Thank you for the replies. I feel a lot more confident now. I want better for the kids but worried about putting them in danger. This has helped. Thank you.
