Hi,my name is Nia,from Swansea. I work as a TA in a Welsh primary school.

Today,I was told that my two children, who attend the same school as I,need to self isolate for 14 days, due to another child, from breakfast club testing positive for corona virus.

As my parents are both shielding, they are unable to take care of my children.

Therefore,I have to take 2 weeks off work to take care of them

I have been told, that I will be unpaid for the duration 💔😭.

    Help?!?

If you are self isolating because your children may have been exposed you’re entitled to statutory sick pay from day one (usually there are 3 waiting days before this kicks in), it’s not much but better than zero pay.
