hi all, I’m heading for family court over contact but the respondent has not sent back acknowledgement letter to the court, are they duty bound to do this? Any help?

It reflects badly if you don’t do something and if not on time,  any responding statements, etc, might be overlooked. An acknowledgement doesn’t really mean much. If they don’t turn up that’s their lookout. Family Law Court is still a court when all is said and done. In extremis, disobeying a Court Order or summons can lead to fines or even imprisonment.
