    Hello lovely Mums out there,

As a single Mum without support from family or my sons dad, I am struggling with childcare now that my career is becoming more demanding. Would anyone recommend an aupair? What do people do who work in and out of school hours and have 10 – 11 year old children? Any advice or tips welcome?

Thanks. I have one son who is nearly 11. I think he would benefit from having a male au piar around as his dad is not involved. I wouldn’t take on an au pair unless they were happy to contribute to house hold tasks. Wouldn’rt want to take on more responsabilities when I am already holding a lot on my own. I guess I am in a situation where I dont have much choice. Most people have a supportive and caring family, or a father of their child who is involved. I am a happy mother and do my best with the situation I have. And my son is always the priority. In an ideal world, I’d have support and wouldnt have to consider bringing a stranger into my home.  I would really appreciate your thoughts from other single Mums out there who also have careers (and am in need of some time for themselves occasionally). xx

All thoughts are welcome and appreciated. x
