I’d be so grateful to hear some advice.

I am in the process of separating from my abusive husband. I am considering moving to London as my chances of getting a better paid job are much higher there. Unfortunately any job I get is likely to mean the occasional late night and sometimes some overnight stays away from home. I have a one year old.

Does anyone have any advice re childcare options please? I am thinking that a nursery is probably not going to be flexible enough but am worried that a nanny would be extortionate. I will be living in west London.

    Thanks so much

    Hi Sunshine41

I glad to see you are reaching out to the forum to here about other parents experiences.  Hopefully it won’t be long before you get some responses through.  In the meantime I will be sending you a private message with some signposting options.

Thanks so much for your advice. I too am coming to the conclusion that as much as I feel that moving to London would offer a fresh start that the logistics would just be too difficult. I will have a couple of friends nearby but no close family to help with childcare. I’d be working in the government or charitable sector.

The idea of of an au pair is a good one  – I’ll definitely look into it!

    Thanks again xx
