    Hi,

So…my ex girlfriend who has an untreated personality disorder trapped me into a pregnancy by taking a used condom to the bathroom and somehow impregnating herself. It’s been a lot to come to terms with and she did not put me on the birth certificate. She is now chasing me for child maintenance. I have had a DNA test and he is my baby. Does anyone know where I stand in terms of having to pay child maintenance?

I also want to try and be part of his life but she is refusing him coming to spend time with me. Does anyone know where I stand on this>

    Thanks

If you have had a dna test and parentage has been proven you will have to pay maintenance.  If you are unable to come to an agreement with the mother you can go to court to gain parental responsibility it’s a C1 form and it’s £215 (I’m currently filling one in to change my daughters surname) and then you can try to arrange access through mediation or a child arrangement order.
