Im hoping there’s some mums out there in a similar boat..?

my self employed ex is a wealthy man and owns approx 500k in property. They interviewed him this week and say they’re waiting on him providing some info. They’ll then decide whether to change the assessment.

Hes a slippery snake and gets away with everything. My understanding is that after a year long investigation, they already have made their minds up at interview stage OR am I wrong?? Could he pull something out of the bag?

For information: salary HMRC declared has never been higher than £203pw gross. Owns a garage, car sales and rents out property (for cash)

Any advice would be great, thanks in advance x

I don’t think anyone can advise tbh. And at this point what will be will be…

As long as he’s not doing anything illegally and is offsetting as expenses etc as self employed are permitted then I’d imagine nothing will come if it.

However there are examples when capital has been tagen into account.

They found in Oct that his true salary was 47k but that they’d found more including a hidden property and wanted to continue with the investigation.

I was really hoping that someone else had been through this too

    Thanks anyway 🙂
