    Good Evening to you all.

In July 2020 I separated from my husband of 14 years. I was a victim of domestic violence and assault and finally had enough when he assaulted our son. I applied for child maintenance when he refused to come to an agreement I was supposed to start getting payments in October in 5 months I’ve had 3 payments. I’ve tried asking what’s going on on the portal I get no response I phoned today and was told I needed a call back in the next 48 hours. There is 1500 arrears on account we were on direct pay but moved to DOE in December and still I’m not getting regular maintenance. I’m struggling to stay on top of all bills as well as school uniform ect that the children need. The maintenance would make it considerably easier. Is there anything I can or should be doing? I work part time and claim universal credits. Many thanks

    hi,

is your ex a permanent employee or self-employed? only thing to do is keep bugging CMS to enforce payments.

In permanent employment and I’ve just had a letter to say I’m not getting payment this month as he hasn’t passed payment on as agreed

that sounds very silly. with DEO, the maintenance money is taken right out of his payslip each month. CMS tell his employer to do it.

CMS being incompetent. keep bugging them. make complaint. involve your MP if you have to.
