Hi. I’m looking for advice on child arrangements order please.

Ex is only allowed indirect contact.  The children live with me full time.

I have to give ex 6 weekly updates on my 3 children and photos twice a year.   They are 16, 15 and 12. What age can these updates and photos stop please?  The order doesn’t specify.

Some people have said 18 as he has no direct contact,  others say 16 unless order states 18. I’m very confused.

My daughters hate me sending updates.  They throw away all mail he sends. They have been given a court order allowing them to change their surnames even though ex objected.

    Just really need some clarification.

    Thank you.

    hi,

this is what i got from a law site:

Once a child reaches the age of 16, he/she is legally allowed to choose which parent to live with. The only reason this wouldn’t apply is if there’s a Court Order stating that a child must remain with a certain parent until a certain time.

For example, there may be a Residence Order or a Child Arrangement Order in place. Often these expire when a child turns 16 if the order is in relation to contact only but they will normally last until the child is 18 if the order contains provisions as to where a child lives.
