    Hi all!

My divorce was finalised over Christmas and I am just debating whether to change my name back to my maiden name or keep my married name as it is the same as my children. My questions is – if I change it back to my maiden name and change all my bank accounts / bills etc, can I leave my passport as my married name so that I am the same as the children when travelling?

    Thanks in advance!

Really not sure about that one. There are certainly advantages to having the same name as your kids with school and so on, as it avoids confusion with the staff. Think the only way to be certain is to ask the passport office or the deed poll people.

Passport office is really quite difficult to get hold of at the moment – just got passport for DD and it took absolutely ages, so I would factor the length of time for a possible change into your plans. Guess they have got a backlog due to Covid.
