    Hi,

    My daughters father has agreed to her double barrelling her name to have both our surnames as I am going back to my maiden name, this is something my daughter also wants.

    I have two questions;

    1st- To change mine, do I need to do this through deed poll? I have seen somewhere that I can just use the divorce papers for all relevant companies/banks etc. Has anyone done this, could you help me? Thanks.

    2nd- To change my daughters name- I think I am right that I need to do this through deed poll? Though I have been searching on the internet and I am now confused. There is a court issued arrangement order in place. Do I need to get a solicitor involved? I would rather not due to the cost of that. I did also see somewhere that it was going to cost £18.50 but I have just looked again and its more like £40, including a £24 charge for it going in the Gazette! If anyone has gone through this process I would really appreciate some advice.

    Thank you very much,

    Rachael.
