    1. I know that the process can take 5 weeks. My question is, I’m due a tax credits payment on Tuesday. I get them monthly. So I think I’m being canny in thinking if I submit my claim as soon as I get my payment then hopefully I wont feel it too bad 🤔 anyone else done this?

Thankyou for your reply. I think we receive tax credits a month behind and not in front. So the money I get tomorrow is for last month? So that’s why I’m thinking it will e 4 weeks then to a normal next payment hence only having to wait an extra week?

I’ve worked out I will get more as now claiming the housing part.

    Thankyou

    Hi.

I went through this earlier in the year. I was approximately £300 worse off a month after the switch over.

    Hi Jason,

Can I ask what your circumstances are or were to get less?I am on my own with 2 young children.  I work part time max 30 hours a week. I get working tax and child tax atm. But I have worked out I will get more as will be claiming housing/rent support which I currently do not get.

    Regards
