Hi, I hope you are all well. I’m currently pregnant and single. I live in London and work 100% at the moment. I am a EU national and don’t have any family here to support me, also the baby’s father isn’t in the UK. So when I go back to work I will need to work 100%, otherwise I cannot pay my bills. But childcare for 5 days a week is so extremely expensive I cannot afford it. I only have pre-settled status, so I cannot get universal credit. Do you have any tips on what I could do? Or a cheaper option of childcare (than around 1100 £ per month). Are there any support groups or nanny sharing or anything?

    Hi Maria,

I hope you’re well and the pregnancy is going fine. I am in a similar position. How about doing a compressed work week 8-6 for 4 days? I found a Nursery in south London and it’s quite reasonable and great quality. Things have a funny way of working out! It is well

    best wishes
