    Dear all,

Please I am in need of a property to rent for my child and me. I am still on my journey as a single parent, having survived a turbulent marriage and subsequent divorce.

I have been living in my current home for 4 years now and looking to move on and possibly rent a more affordable home for my child and me.

I live in Balham and can live anywhere else within 2 miles if possible. I have spent days and days on end searching for a new home but they are not accepting DSS/Universal credit supported person like me, despite my being self employed and I am worried I might be homeless by 27th of this month. I must say that in the 4 years of living in my current home, I have always paid my rent on time and have excellent ethics regarding paying my bills.

I have reached out to Lambeth Council and they have got me to view two council properties within the last 2 months and it was multiple viewings where I was in 2nd and 5th positions respectively and the Ist persons on both lists accepted the properties making me an outbid.

I feel very hopeless right now and will be very grateful for your support both physically, spiritually and emotionally.

Please kindly reach out and help me however you can and be a part of this rescue mission to my child and me. We have been through so much in this life and pray that God will continue to support us through good people like yourself.

I feel so sorry to hear about your story.  Have you given notice?  I know a lot of landlords that won’t take Dss but there are ones that do. Maybe try a different area so that you have  more options. I don’t live on s London but I know it’s a hugh area . You said within 2 miles but try Norwood crystal palace or Wandsworth area. Good luck x

I’m confused. Has your landlord asked you to leave? It reads as if you just fancy a change/better place? I’m surprised that your council have even offered you the chance to look at council properties (or do you mean you already live in council property?)
