    Hello

Do Gingerbread do camping trips for members does anyone know?

I love camping but as just my 7yr daughter and me I worried I might find it bit tough.

Adult conversation for me and someone for L to play with. Looking at a camping holiday with friends next year but also worried about imposing on their family time.

    Know what I mean?

    Hello.

I’m not sure the answer to your question but I took my two girls camping on my own for the first time last year and it was a little daunting at first but once you embrace it was brilliant, we have been many times since and your confidence grows each time. Maybe for the first time just do two nights not to far from home this will enable you to see how amazing you are and it will give you and your daughter a great bonding experience, away from the normal routine of life.

As for going with your friends, they wouldn’t of agreed/suggested it if they didn’t want to join you. It will add diversity and fun for them to.

    Go for it!

Gingerbread camping trips would be a really good idea – Adult company and the children keeping each other busy, plus would definitely give some confidence to anyone who isn’t sure for the first time around!

Thanks guys! Yes a weekend near us is a good idea for first attempt…

This forum is really helping me; i dont feel like such an outsider to the family unit world as much …Not being part of the ‘normal’ family unit when ur over the park can be painful even 5 yrs on! Looking about seeing parents together with the kids can make me feel lonely.  Have considered not going on our own so much lately and only with friends to avoid the feeling.

First meeting at Gingerbread tomorrow; looking forward to it.

Our mind can play very cruel tricks on us and make us see what we think we are missing in our life, but if you look a bit harder you see families arguing, or not making conversation at all.

No one else in the park or wherever knows your situation or how you got to be where you are today, so be proud of being a single mum hold your head high and enjoy not having to share the special moments with anyone else and being able to do things all your way

Have a great time at the meet tomorrow, I wish there was one near me.

Thank you. I need to work on my perspective and yes ignore those nasty mind tricks 👍 the reality is  not as it seems…my ex husband hated coming to the park so i had to jeer him on when he finally came there, least i don’t have to do that anymore…Yay! 😁
