Can anyone recommend any story books for kids (aged 2.5 and 6) that might help with the huge change in their world with parents separating / living apart? I’d love something that might help my 6 year old be able to talk about how she feels, because she isn’t at the moment and has outbursts of fury directed at me so I know she’s processing lots of emotion but can’t turn it into words.
Gingerbread forum moderator here, thank you for posting your question on the forum, hopefully it won’t be long before others share some of their book recommendations. Just thought I would mention that there may be other posts on the forum where parents have shared their ideas on useful books to read so you may want to do a quick search through some of these threads. Gingerbread also hold some information on our website for children of single parents, and this page has a couple of links to story books for children: https://www.gingerbread.org.uk/information/children-of-single-parents/children-whose-parents-are-splitting-up/
